MLB Funko Pop adds Phillies Bryce Harper figurine, and we need 50

In case you have somehow avoided every child's birthday/office desk/comic book store for the last five years, Funko Pop figurines are a big deal. The stylized versions of pop culture icons turn your favorite characters into adorable little companions. It's great, I have six.

On Friday, coinciding with the 2020 London Toy Fair, Funko announced brand-new additions to their Major League Baseball Funko Pop! line of figurines, 17 brand new collectibles catering to baseball fans.

We have good news: there's now a Phillies Bryce Harper figurine, and it's amazing:

This feels like an appropriately cutesy recreation of Harper. The properly-appointed goatee, the attention to his flowing hair - it's all there.

Before now, the only Harper Funko Pop figurine that existed was his old Nationals figurine, which sported a thinner beard and a pointier mustache. This new one is better. Don't @ me.

It's interesting, too, that Funko chose to give Phillies Harper a glove stance, instead of a bat stance.

Ostensibly to keep the figurines from feeling one-note, Funko opts for two main character models for non-pitcher-and-catcher players: a bat stance, and a glove stance. Harper, best known for his towering homers, had a bat stance with the Nationals but gets a glove stance with the Phillies, appropriate considering he posted his best dWAR since 2015 last season.

All things considered, Funko did a very good job, and I need to buy 86. For $10.99, you too can pre-order your Harper figurine ahead of the April 2020 release.

Here's a list of the newly-announced figurines:

Pete Alonso
Cody Bellinger
Nolan Arenado
Vladimir Guerrero Jr.
Christian Yelich
Austin Meadows
Freddie Freeman
Josh Bell
Xander Bogaerts
