Chase Utley did what he always does. He played the game hard.
Only this time he may have been a little dirty. You can watch for yourself and come to your own conclusions.

My take is that everything Utley did was within the rules of the game and I believe he had no intention of hurting New York Mets shortstop Ruben Tejada but also that it was a pretty dirty play that definitely helped the Los Angeles Dodgers on to victory in Game 2 of the NLDS.
If you want to have a gripe about the play, MLB should be the target of your ire, as Rob Neyer wrote for Fox Sports. If you don't want to see that sort of take-out slide happen at second base, there needs to be much stronger rules around it.
But if you're a New Yorker, you're going to hate Chase Utley even more this morning.
