How Phillies fans reacted to the J.T. Realmuto news

The Phillies finally re-signed J.T. Realmuto on Tuesday, bringing back the best catcher in baseball with a five-year, $115 million deal that was months, and years, in the making.

Whether or not Realmuto would return was extremely up in the air after a disappointing 2020 campaign and a blurry vision from the Phillies' front office, but new President of Baseball Operations Dave Dombrowski got the deal done with the 30-year-old catcher, and Phillies fans couldn't be more amped.

Bryce Harper, for one, is pretty thrilled that his good friend will also be his teammate for the next five years:

And the overall sense among fans? Joy:

Some fans brought their jokes to the party:

And a lot of Phillies fans, like myself, were waiting for this moment to press "Buy" on a Realmuto jersey or shirt, knowing that he'll be here at least through 2026:

It's a huge day for the Phillies' organization, and for baseball fans across the city: JT is back.
