Phillies set to get 2 key players back Saturday

It’s a short turnaround for the Phillies, who are set to get two key players back for Saturday’s 1 p.m. game in Clearwater (live on NBC Sports Philadelphia).

Didi Gregorius is starting at shortstop and batting fifth, four days after being hit in the back of the head by a pitch against the Blue Jays. Gregorius went through concussion protocol, which is standard operating procedure now when a player is hit in the head.

Right-handed reliever Connor Brogdon is scheduled to pitch in the game. He exited last Sunday with a minor rib issue. Left-hander Matt Moore is starting for the Phillies, with Archie Bradley, Hector Neris, Jose Alvarado, Brogdon, David Hale and Bryan Mitchell scheduled to follow him.

Those weren’t the only two players the Phillies have received good news about over the last 24 hours. J.T. Realmuto, Brad Miller and Zach Eflin might be ready for opening day after all.

The Phillies played a night game in Tampa Friday, beating the Yankees 4-1. They have start times after 6 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday next week in the final full week of Grapefruit League games.

Today, they face lefty Steven Matz for the third time already in camp. Here's the lineup:

1. Roman Quinn, CF

2. Rhys Hoskins, 1B

3. Bryce Harper, RF

4. Alec Bohm, 3B

5. Didi Gregorius, SS

6. Jean Segura, 2B

7. Scott Kingery, LF

8. Jeff Mathis, C

9. Matt Moore, P
