WASHINGTONThe Phillies have recalled left-handed reliever Mike Zagurski from Triple A Lehigh Valley. He takes the spot of righthander Vance Worley, who was sent to Lehigh Valley on Monday.
This is Zagurskis second tour with the Phils this season. He was 1-0 with nine saves and a 1.88 ERA in 14 games with Lehigh Valley. He had 23 strikeouts in 14 13 innings and was holding opposing hitters to a .196 batting average.
Zagurski will join Antonio Bastardo and J.C. Romero as lefthanders in the Phillies' bullpen Tuesday night at Washington.
Worley was sent to Lehigh Valley to build innings after allowing 12 hits in three innings in his last start Sunday.E-mail Jim Salisbury at jsalisbury@comcastsportsnet.com
