Spring Training is inching closer and after what has been a long offseason filled with changes and new additions for the Phillies, everyone is excited for what's to come.
As the countdown is now at single digits before pitchers and catchers report to Clearwater, Fl., New Era released the hats the players will be sporting.
The hat displays the Libery Bell. It probably would've been fine if it stopped there, but the team's name is oddly placed inside of it.
It's not the best design, but based off of what the company has recently released, it could be a lot worse.
Luckily for the Phillies and their fans, none of these New Era hats will be used:
MLB
Cowboys star
Chili-dog looking cheesesteak
Rhys Hoskins (apparently)
There’s absolutely no way around it at this point. What in the world is New Era thinking when designing these hats? One can appreciate stepping outside of the box but sometimes staying inside of the box works perfectly fine, too. New Era, please get back in the box.
Maybe someone can introduce them to the phrase ‘less is best’? Or get them back to making staple hats with a simple logo, team name or an icon (but not a cheesesteak. Please, no more cheesesteaks on hats).
