What is Kris Bryant doing with Phillies prospect Bryson Stott?

We've come full circle, people. After an offseason filled with cryptic social media messages leading up to Bryce Harper's signing with the Phillies, two other Vegas kids were pictured together working out this week.

And knowing the internet, it will lead to a new round of speculation.

Bryson Stott, the Phillies' first-round pick last summer out of UNLV, posted this Instagram story with Kris Bryant. Bryant, of course, has been the subject of trade rumors all offseason.

Doesn't mean anything. Guys workout together all the time. It's fun, though.

It is well known that Bryant and Harper are boys. Harper would obviously love it if the Phillies could figure out a trade for the former MVP and three-time All-Star. Such a deal would not be easy or painless for the Phils, as explained here. Bryant is under team control for two more seasons and would cost a ton in a trade. There are other organizations who could also use Bryant and have so much more prospect depth. The Braves, for example.

As for Stott, the Harper connection predated either player's arrival to the Phillies' organization.

Stott's mother was the high school cheerleading coach of Harper's sister once upon a time.

"Building our own relationship as I got a little older was pretty awesome," Stott said the night he was drafted by the Phillies 14th overall.

Three years from now, how many Vegas natives will be key players for the Phils? Safe to say the fan base hopes the answer is three.
