Ben Simmons is out for the Sixers tonight against the Blazers with left calf tightness.
Simmons was downgraded at 6:15 p.m. after being listed as probable on the team’s injury reports earlier in the day.
Head coach Doc Rivers said it was something that bothered Simmons a bit after Wednesday’s win over the Hornets and that he took part in the team’s walkthrough Thursday. It didn’t sound like a big concern.

It’s an opportune night to rest Simmons against a heavily undermanned Blazers squad missing Damian Lillard in addition to CJ McCollum and Jusuf Nurkic. Portland is down to nine players total.
With Simmons out, the Sixers will start Seth Curry, Furkan Korkmaz, Danny Green, Tobias Harris and Joel Embiid.
