Best of NBA: Warriors beat Clippers, stay ahead of record pace

OAKLAND, Calif. -- Stephen Curry scored 33 points a few hours after coach Steve Kerr declared Golden State is all about the NBA wins record, and the Warriors stayed right on track to make more history Wednesday night with a 114-98 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers.

Klay Thompson added 32 points with seven 3-pointers, Curry drew a rare technical in the fourth, and Harrison Barnes had 11 points and six rebounds as Golden State (64-7) stayed one game ahead of the 1995-96 Bulls' pace in their record 72-win season.

The Warriors won their 51st straight regular-season home game, improving to 33-0 this season at rockin' Oracle Arena -- where the fans let the rival Clippers have it at every opportunity.

DeAndre Jordan scored 19 points for the Clippers, swept by Golden State for the first time since dropping all six meetings in 1985-86 (see full recap).

Celtics top Lowry-less Raptors
BOSTON -- Isaiah Thomas scored 23 points, Evan Turner added 17 and the Boston Celtics beat the Toronto Raptors 91-79 on Wednesday night.

Avery Bradley finished with 16 points and eight rebounds as the Celtics won their third consecutive game.

Boston had what had been an eight-point lead at the start of the fourth quarter cut to a point. But the Celtics responded with a 10-4 run to get the separation they needed to close it out.

DeMar DeRozan led the Raptors with 21 points. Point guard Kyle Lowry sat out, resting a sore right elbow.

Toronto had a four-game winning streak snapped and fell 2 games behind Cleveland for the best record in the Eastern Conference (see full recap).

Lillard, Blazers hold off Mavs
PORTLAND, Ore. -- Damian Lillard had 27 points and six assists, Ed Davis scored all of his 16 points in the first half and the Portland Trail Blazers beat the Dallas Mavericks 109-103 on Wednesday night.

Maurice Harkless, starting for just the fourth time all season, and C.J. McCollum each added 14 points for the Blazers, who won for the first time against the team chasing them in the Western Conference standings.

Dallas made the game interesting with a late push to trim a 15-point deficit to five with 12.3 seconds left, but the Blazers made five of their six free throws down the stretch to hang on for the victory.

Former Blazers guard Wesley Matthews paced the Mavericks with 22 points. Salah Mejri, making his fourth start of the season, added 14 points and 12 rebounds, and Dirk Nowitzki scored 21. Dallas fell into a tie with Utah for seventh in the West, and has lost eight of 11 (see full recap).
