Jahlil Okafor will miss his second straight game when the Sixers play the Charlotte Hornets at the Wells Fargo Center on Wednesday night.
Okafor is sidelined with a shin contusion he suffered during Sunday night's loss to the Orlando Magic when he collided with guard Isaiah Canaan. Head coach Brett Brown expected the rookie center to only miss one game, but it appears that has changed.
"I thought that the Washington game was going to be the only game," Brown said. "It just hasn't responded as quickly as we had hoped. Obviously at this stage of the year we need to be smart with him and we will. So we're going to sit him."
Hollis Thompson, who missed the last two games with an upper respiratory, is available Wednesday night. He will be on a minutes restriction.
Guards Nik Stauskas and T.J. McConnell, and forward Richaun Holmes will also be on a minutes restriction.
