Life is bigger than basketball and petty squabbles.

Karl-Anthony Towns of the Timberwolves shared Wednesday morning that his mother is in a medically-induced coma while battling coronavirus.

An emotional Towns gave the details of his mom’s condition while urging people to take COVID-19 seriously in an Instagram video.

Joel Embiid has had his share of run-ins with Towns, including one that escalated into an on-court fight and social media bashing earlier this season. On Wednesday afternoon, Embiid shared a message of support.

Al Horford, who has a bond with Towns because of their Dominican roots, also tweeted out a sign of support.

On Tuesday, Embiid pledged to donate $500,000 to COVID-19 medical relief efforts, a league source confirmed Tuesday to NBC Sports Philadelphia.

The All-Star center also intended to help employees that were facing financial hardships because of salary reductions the team planned on implementing. However, managing partner Josh Harris said in a statement that the team had changed course and planned to pay their employees full salaries.
