Nerlens Noel and Jahlil Okafor will not play Friday for the Sixers against the Heat.
Noel hurt his right knee Wednesday against the Hornets. Okafor continues to sit out with a right shin contusion suffered last Sunday. Neither practiced Thursday.
“Those two will be day-to-day,” said Brett Brown.
Nik Stauskas and Kendall Marshall will also miss the game with upper respiratory infections. Neither are with the team.
T.J. McConnell (shin) and Hollis Thompson (upper respiratory) are on minute restrictions.
As a result, Brown expects Elton Brand to make his season debut. The Sixers have also called up Christian Wood from the Delaware 87ers.
Brown will start Ish Smith, Thompson, Robert Covington, Jerami Grant and Carl Landry.
