Nik Stauskas probable, Robert Covington out Friday for Sixers

It looks like Nik Stauskas is good to go this time.

Stauskas, who missed Wednesday’s season opener with back spasms after missing most of the preseason with a stress reaction in his right tibia, is probable for Friday night's Sixers home opener against the Utah Jazz, according to head coach Brett Brown.

Acquired in a trade with Sacramento, Stauskas was selected with the No. 8 overall pick in the 2014 draft. He averaged 4.4 points per game in 73 appearances with the Kings in his rookie season.

But even if Stauskas debuts Friday, the Sixers will still be down a shooter, as Robert Covington has been ruled out for the home opener.

Covington suffered a bone bruise and sprained knee last Friday in the preseason finale against Boston and is expected to miss one to two weeks of action.
