Sharpshooter Nik Stauskas is likely to make his Sixers debut tonight when they open the season in Boston against the Celtics, according to head coach Brett Brown.
Brown "believes" Stauskas will play, he told the team's official site on Wednesday. The guard remains a game-time decision.
Recovering from a stress reaction in his right tibia, Stauskas practiced on Tuesday for the first time since the first week of Sixers training camp. He suffered the injury playing for the Canadian national team in the FIBA Tournament of the Americas during the summer.
"I’m super excited," Stauskas said Tuesday. "I worked so hard this offseason to prepare myself for this moment. So whether it’s [Wednesday] or later, I’m ready. I’m just ready to go."
