Sixers take all the threes, lose to Hornets

Well, the Philadelphia 76ers magic number for the year is down to seven. Yes, in just seven games, this Stadium Arcadium of a Sixers season will finally be over. Before that, we had to endure our second-to-last Hornets ass-whooping of the season, and it went like all the others have and will: Respectable-respectable-respectable-less-respectable-pathetic. Watching these Sixers try to imitate a good team for four quarters is like watching a toddler try to hold it in for a two-and-a-half-hour road-trip. You know they're not gonna make it the whole way, it's really just a question of when.

At the very least, the Sixers are ending the season by going down bombing. For the third time in four games, the Sixers set a season high in three-point attempts, this time setting the franchise record again with 44 shots from deep. (They made 16, also tying a Sixers best.) It's as good a strategy as any when the Sixers' lone "bigs" are undersized and overworked Carl Landry and Elton Brand (NO WE'RE NOT COUNTING YOU CHRISTIAN WOOD STOP ASKING), and actually, it would've worked a lot better had the Sixers not paired complemented going 16-44 from three with going 14-52 from two, an appallingly bad percentage that's a testament to both Charlotte's impressing defensive schemes and our unimpressive everything.

The really good news: We get to do this again in Charlotte on Friday night. The actually really good news: This game was over at 9:08. Drive home safely, Philadelphia. Only three months until the draft.
