Joel Embiid has returned from his trip abroad to rehab his foot in Qatar. The players in the locker room were reportedly excited to see his friendly face. And he's right back to his pregame antics.
Embiid was seen chucking up threes during warmups prior to tonight's game against the Charlotte Hornets at the Wells Fargo Center. You can also see him chatting up Philadelphia hoops legend Sonny Hill before the game in the above video.
"He's at this facility called Aspetar in Qatar," Sam Hinkie said of Embiid's trip while he was away, "that is an interesting place and one we've been looking at for six months that's world renowned for having the best sports medicine docs and rehab specialists and orthopaedic surgeons and sports psychologists and dietitians. The whole gamut, sort of soup to nuts."
They also have some tennis tournaments over there that Embiid took in during his trip.
No updates from the team pregame tonight about how his trip went. As of the last time we heard any updates, don't expect to see Embiid during Summer League, but the big hope of the Sixers should be "raring to go" for the start of next season.
