A couple missed dunks will not faze Villanova's Donte DiVincenzo

There's something the Internet loves about a missed dunk. It's typically rather hilarious to watch an NBA player miss a dunk because, well, they are in the NBA! Make a dunk, will ya?!?

It's not quite as humorous at the college level, but when you're talking about a guy playing for the defending NCAA champs, it's still a "whoops" moment.

One may think that a missed dunk could throw a player off of his game -- two missed dunks, for sure -- but not Villanova's Donte DiVincenzo. That dude can ball as demonstrated by his impressive performance in the opening round victory over Mount St. Mary's on Thursday afternoon.

A blooper barely fazed him.

Sometimes you just misjudge. Donte was asked about the two missed dunks and didn't really have an explanation.

From the Villanova postgame:

What happened on the dunks?
Donte: "I don't know. The first one I took off too far, I guess. The second one, I don't know what happened. I just didn't get a lot of lift. I tried to get it back off the steal.

On the second one were you trying to make up for the first one?"
Donte: I wasn't really worried about that. It's something that goes through your head after that second missed dunk."

Jay Wright: "I have no problem with that at all, none. ... He made two great defensive plays to get out there and he just took off. He's one of our best dunkers. He took off too far on the first one and probably on the second one, he should have gone off one foot. I think he heard the crowd as he was going. They were kind of laughing and I think he slowed up and said I'll go off two feet, which he didn't have to do. It's one of those things a freshman does. I won't say a word about that. I'm so proud about how he rebounded and how he defended."

DiVincenzo clearly didn't allow it to affect the rest of his game as he finished with 21 points on 9-15 shooting with an impressive 13 rebounds to boot. He was integral Villanova's turnaround. Much more on DiVincenzo's big night of rebounding from CSNPhilly.com's Reuben Frank who was up in Buffalo for the victory.

You can enjoy the plethora of non-blooper highlights DiVincenzo provided in the below video. Better to remember those anyway.
