Video of LaVar Ball getting whooped in a rec-league game surfaces

LaVar Ball has made the claim that his son, Lonzo Ball, is better than Steph Curry. The elder Ball also claimed he could beat Michael Jordan in a game of one-on-one.

Both are laughable. Especially the latter one.

And especially considering the video that surfaced Monday. The video shows Ball in a rec-league game looking helpless against mere mortals.

Ball is wearing No. 8 for the red team.

Once upon a time Ball apparently was a decent athlete. He played college basketball and in the mid-1990s spent time in training camp with the New York Jets.

Ball averaged 22.2 points per game at West LA College ... community college. Ball also played at Washington State (Division I) and Cal State LA (Division II).

He averaged 15.8 points and 8.9 rebounds per game at Cal State LA, but mustered a mere 2.2 points and 2.3 rebounds in 26 games for Washington State.

Apparently, Ball has talked a big game his entire life. Per Rich Cimini with ESPN, Ball was just as cocky when he was in training camp with the Jets.

So, if the video of Ball playing against your average rec-league players does not reassure the fact he would never beat MJ in a game of one-on-one, then try watching a computer simulation of Ball vs. Jordan.

The result ... not surprising.
