176 One-Line Game Summaries for the 2008 Philadelphia Phillies

Share

As we continue to celebrate the Phillies' World Series win into mid-November, there is still no shortage of good material. One of my favorite items we've received is a link to a series of scanned notebook pages containing one-line summaries of each game the Phillies played this year. This was sent to us by a gentleman named Phil Lee, which is quite the coincidence if it's not just a pen name. Here's a sample from the notebook, which can bee viewed and downloaded in its entirerty here.

The story behind the notebook, after the jump.

This year, thanks to mlb.com,
I watched about 155 phillies games. Also, this year, fortuitously, I
kept a log of all the Phillies games in a notebook I carry around.

Each day I tried to sum up the previous day's game
in one line. When I started I didn't think I would actually keep up
with it, I was wrong. The Phils kept winning and I kept writing it down.

It's been really great reviewing it now, what with
being world champions and all, but there are lot of good ones in
there...APRIL 15-BAT BURRELL FOR PRESIDENT, GAME TYING HR B9, W4-3 or
JULY 23-REYES & WAGNER, DOUCHES, L3-6

I scanned it and threw it up on a blogspot page, http://phillieslogbook. blogspot.com.

Oh and it's color coded, red=win, blue=loss. Man there is a lot of red!

Anyway, I thought you might enjoy.

Hell yeah I enjoyed it. What a great souvenir to have from the best season of our lives.
