Delaware falls to College of Charleston for 11th loss in a row

CHARLESTON, S.C. -- Marquise Pointer scored 16 points as the College of Charleston edged Delaware 59-58 on Saturday.

Pointer finished with 6-of-18 shooting from the field including four from distance for the Cougars (12-7, 4-4 Colonial Athletic Association). Jarrell Brantley added 13 points with five rebounds and Cameron Johnson and Evan Bailey had 10 points apiece.

The Cougars trailed 31-29 at the break but Pointer sank a 3-pointer to start the second half, sparking a 14-6 run that gave Charleston a 43-37 lead with 11:39 to play. Delaware closed it to trail 52-50 with 2:14 remaining and Pointer responded with his fourth 3-pointer to make it 55-50 with 1:48 to go. Charleston's Kory Holden hit a trey with six seconds left to trim the Cougars lead to one, 59-58, but missed another at the buzzer.

Marvin King-Davis led the Blue Hens (5-14, 0-8) with 17 points and 14 rebounds. Holden finished with 16 points.
