Drexel overwhelmed by Towson in crushing 69-50 defeat

TOWSON, Md. -- William Adala Moto scored 16 points and had 11 rebounds, and Towson left Drexel behind early in a 69-50 victory on Saturday.

Towson (13-6, 4-2 Colonial Athletic) scored the first nine points on its way to a 33-12 halftime lead and maintained a comfortable margin the entire game, leading by as many as 28 in the second half.

Drexel shot just 27 percent against the CAA's top scoring defense (65.2 ppg). The Tigers blocked 11 shots, led by seven by Walter Foster, who was two short of the school record.

Adala Moto, a Wake Forest transfer, turned in his third straight double-double. Eddie Keith II scored 14 points, Byron Hawkins 12 and Mike Morsell 10 for Towson, which shot 51 percent.

Terrell Allen had 15 points and Sammy Mojica 12 for the Dragons (3-14, 1-5), who have lost six of their last seven.
