Comcast SportsNet announced today that former Philadelphia 76er and NBA veteran Alaa Abdelnaby is the newest member of the Sixers broadcast team partnering with Marc Zumoff and Molly French (formerly Molly Sullivan) for the 2015-16 season. This trio will make their debut tonight at 7 p.m. when the Sixers take on the Cleveland Cavaliers in a preseason matchup on The Comcast Network.
Abdelnaby played five seasons in the NBA, including a stint with the Sixers in 1995. His broadcasting resume includes working as a color commentator for Westwood One Radio. He also serves as a color commentator and studio analyst with CBS Sports Network. Abdelnaby has called a number of NCAA Tournament games including the 2015 Final Four featuring 76ers rookie Jahlil Okafor as a member of the Duke Blue Devils. Alaa is a 1990 graduate of Duke University.
“The opportunity to join the Comcast SportsNet and 76ers family and work alongside Marc and Molly is tremendously exciting,” said Abdelnaby. “The 76ers are building something special and I look forward to sharing their story with our viewers.”
