Mets Make First Splash, Agree to Deal with Closer Francisco Rodriguez

SI.com's Jon Heyman reports the cash money deal:

The deal, which is expected to be consummated very soon, is said to be
for about $37 million over three years. The Mets may not announce the
deal for a day or two.

There goes the ability to always count on the Mets bullpen blowing every game. For serious though, this is a huge move for the Mets and adds one of the games best stoppers to our hated rival. No like.
