Doubt many people would have guessed this time a year ago that a Knicks-Sixers two-game series would have potential playoff implications for both teams, but here we are. The Sixers have won five of their last six games to move to 22-26 for the season, and only three games behind the Knicks, who after a red-hot end to the 2010 calendar year have tapered off a little, for the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference. Whether the Sixers can make a push further up in the standings and possibly secure a more favorable first-round matchup might ultimately depend on how they do against the Knicks tonight in Philly, and again on Sunday in New York.
7:00 tip from the Wells Fargo Center tonight. No Sixers announced as part of the Eastern Conference roster for the ASG this year, surprise surprise, but Doug Collins believes the team has a future All-Star selection in their midst. "Evan [Turner] has played great in the last month," said Collins. "We'rehoping that Evan's going to continue on that path. I honestly believeEvan one day can play on Sunday (in the All-Star Game)."
