Pat & Cole Send Phils Into All Star Break Atop The NL East

Cole Hamels allowed more men on base than he usually does but it was a bend but don't break performance for the Phillies ace who only gave up two runs and kept the Phillies close all day. Chase and Ryan set the table nicely in the eighth while the game was tied at 2 a piece. That's when Pat the Bat sent a ball deep into the left field bleachers and the fans into the All Star break on a positive winning note. Lidge did his thing in the ninth and the Phils will get a few days off to enjoy their position in first place atop the NL East.

Pat Burrell won't be making an appearance in New York for the festivities but he got his praise in the form of a heartfelt ovation from the CBP faithful on Sunday.

The full size of the Burrell homer picture is quite nice.
