NEW YORK -- Alek Torgersen threw three touchdown passes, Tre Solomon ran for two scores and Penn beat Columbia 42-7 on Saturday, giving coach Ray Priore his first Ivy League Conference win.
Penn has beaten Columbia the last 19 times they have played, the longest active winning streak over an annual opponent in the FCS.
Columbia (1-4, 0-2) struck first on Skyler Mornhinweg's 6-yard pass to Cameron Dunn, but the Lions fumbled on their next possession and Torgersen hit Ryan Kelly with a 19-yard scoring pass two plays later. Penn scored 42 unanswered points and had 417 total yards to Columbia's 199.
Torgersen was 19 of 29 for 270 yards, with a 25-yard TD pass to Christian Pearson and a 32-yard pass to Kelly in the third quarter. Solomon scored on runs of 1 and 3 yards and Brian Schoenauer scored on an 11-yard run.
Mornhinweg was 11 of 15 for 56 yards with an interception and a fumble.
