Alright. This is serious. The Phils can't let the Mets win three straight and take this series. The boost of confidence it would give those bums up there must be avoided. After yesterday's almost incredible win, the Phils were left a bit deflated. The Phils need a win tonight to prevent any further spiraling downward.
The once-mighty Pedro Martinez takes the mound and faces the horrible-to-average-to-decently-solid Adam Eaton. As ESPN's preview points out, Petey has struggled recently and a win against the NL East leading Phils could potentially turn his season around. Eaton is coming off a win against the mediocre Braves in which he threw 5 solid innings.
The problem with the Phils lately hasn't exactly been the pitching.

The Phils bats have been awfully inconsistent as of late. Sure they go on bursts where they put up double digit runs in one game but then they manage to get only four hits the next game.
Pedro as they face him tonight is very hittable and the Phils need to get a win tonight if they want carry much confidence into the All Star break.
