STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -- Junior college guard Matt Glover has signed a letter of intent to play at Penn State.
The 6-foot-4 Glover will have three years of eligibility left and can start playing this fall. The Nittany Lions hope he will help fill a backcourt void created by the departures of senior Talor Battle and Battle's half-brother, freshman Taran Buie.
Glover averaged about 12 points and five rebounds in his only season at Sheridan College in Wyoming. Coach Ed DeChellis said Monday that Glover's 205-pound frame is Big Ten-ready.
Battle is the school's career scoring leader after wrapping up his four-year career by leading Penn State to the NCAA tournament in March. Buie decided to transfer last month after a season full of off-court trouble.
