As Charlie Manuel loves to say, to be the best you've got to beat the best. Last year, the San Francisco Giants were the best. That doesn't mean SF Manager Bruce Bochy thinks his staff is the best in the game.
"Because of track record, I think you would have to look at their staffas the best in baseball," Bochy told the San Francisco Chronicle. "Ithink everybody in the National League would tell you the road to theWorld Series has to go through Philadelphia, with the quality of theirstaff."
The Phils may have the best staff on paper, but as one more reminder as to who won the World Series last year, let's check in with Brian Wilson.

From the SF Chronicle, via BLS, on what Brian Wilson did with the game winning World Series baseball:
"I don't have a huge case for it," Wilson said. "To be honest with you, Iput it in a Halloween candy jar. It was a delicious treat winning theWorld Series. I pick it up once in a while, play catch with it and tossit around."
Damn it.
We'll have to come up with a plan for what Chooch or Doc (Roy Hallday probably throws a complete game to win the 2011 World Series, right?) can do with the game winning ball this season. I'm leaning place it on top of a waffle cone shrine on Ruiz's mantle.
