We've been lax in our coverage of Birds training camp thus far this season, frankly because we find rehashing players' gripes about their contracts to be rather boring. Westbrook wants a deal done sooner rather than later, Shawn Andrews appears to be a head case, etc. etc.
But finally buried deep in a Les Bowen piece we find some exciting football news.
The nonfight play of the day was a gasp-inducing scamper by Lorenzo
Booker, who got a lot of reps, with Westbrook sitting out contact
drills (the 28 3/4s club?). Booker turned the left corner, faked,
bobbed and dazzled his way through the secondary, running out of a Sean
Considine tackle en route to a 60-yard touchdown.

Granted, it was Considine who he made look foolish. That Booker deal seemed rather insignificant on draft day but he could really be an added weapon this season. I like hearing about his ability to break open a big play.
