Temple and Notre Dame have agreed to play a three-game series starting in 2014.
This is an exciting opportunity for Temple University, our football program, and the best sport fans anywhere -- here in Philadelphia, said Temple Athletic Director Bill Bradshaw. We are committed to playing the best programs in the country, and Notre Dame fits perfectly into our vision of bringing the best to the City of Philadelphia for our alumni and our fans.
The first game on Oct. 11, 2014 will be played in Philadelphia and will be the first ever meeting between the two teams. This will be the Irishs first game at Lincoln Financial Field. Temple will then play at Notre Dame on Sept. 26, 2015. The last game is yet to be determined, but will be played in South Bend.
The Irish have not played in Philadelphia since Oct. 30, 1993 when they played Navy at Veterans Stadium.
The Owls continue to book strong non-conference opponents. The program announced last season a three-game extension with Penn State through 2016 and a new four-game series with Rutgers.
