Villanova on Sunday was named the second overall seed in the NCAA Tournament, and on Monday was named the second-best team in the country in the final AP poll.
Thanks to a 15-game winning streak for the Wildcats and late-season losses by Duke and Virginia, Villanova (32-2) rose to its highest ranking of the 2014-15 season just in time for March Madness.
The Blue Devils' loss to Notre Dame in the ACC Tournament dropped them from second to fourth, while the Cavaliers fell from third to sixth by losing in the ACC semis to North Carolina.
Kentucky (34-0), of course, remained in the No. 1 spot, becoming the first team in 23 years to hold its top ranking from the preseason all the way to the final Top 25.
Following Kentucky and 'Nova in the poll are Wisconsin, Duke and Arizona, respectively.
