An impressive showing in its first two Big East games last week pushed Villanova up five spots in Monday's AP poll, from No. 16 to No. 11.

'Nova last Thursday destroyed Xavier, which was then ranked sixth in the nation, 95-64. The Wildcats followed that up two days later with a 14-point win at Creighton.

Despite drilling Xavier (13-1), Villanova (12-2) is still a spot behind the Musketeers, who dropped four spots to 10th.

Villanova has two games this week: Wednesday vs. Seton Hall and Sunday at No. 18 Butler.

Saint Joseph's (11-2) was not ranked but did receive three votes in the poll, placing them in the de facto No. 35 spot. The Hawks have won seven games in a row, including a four-point road victory over Richmond on Saturday.

Phil Martelli's team also plays twice this week: Tuesday vs. VCU, Sunday vs. Rhode Island.
