With Win Against Pens, Flyers Finish 6th, Face Caps In Playoffs

The Flyguys finished out the season strong with a win over Pittsburgh on Sunday in a game in which the Pens may or may not have been tanking. They held out Sid the Kid in what many are guessing hopes of losing the game so they wouldn't have to face the Flyers in the opening round. It worked as the Flyers won on the back of Marty Biron's shutout. Jeff Carter had this to say off the Pens weak showing, "Guess that's a good thing for us. Maybe they're scared of us, I don't know.

Instead of facing Crosby and the Penguins, the Flyers will go up against the greatest star in the game, Alexander Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals. They Flyers won the season series against the Caps but in a weird twist the road team has won each meeting. Hopefully things can continue that way against the Capitals as the series starts Friday night in DC.

Also, ESPN already has a breakdown of the Flyers/Caps match up.
