10 Golden Tate stats you won't believe

When the Eagles traded for Golden Tate on Tuesday, they got one of the most productive wide receivers in the NFL this decade.

How productive?

Let's go to the numbers!

• Tate is one of only seven players in NFL history with four straight seasons with 90 receptions. The others are Torry Holt (six), Antonio Brown, Marvin Harrison and Demaryius Thomas (five) and Larry Fitzgerald and Jerry Rice (four).

• He's also one of only seven NFL players with 800 or more yards in each of the last five seasons. The others are Brown, Thomas, A.J. Green, T.Y. Hilton, DeAndre Hopkins and Julio Jones.

• Since the start of 2013, Tate has seven catches of at least 60 yards. Only DeSean Jackson (11), Jordy Nelson (10), Odell Beckham (nine) and Hilton and Kenny Stills (eight) have more.

• Tate has caught at least three passes in 36 straight games, the third longest current streak in the NFL behind Beckham (54) and Michael Thomas (40).

• Tate has missed only one game since opening day 2011. He’s the only NFL wide receiver who hasn’t missed more than one game over the past eight seasons.

• Tate already has 44 catches this year in just seven games, which puts him on pace for 100 in a 16-game season. However, since the Lions have already had their bye and the Eagles have one this week, he can play in a maximum of only 15 games this year.

• If Tate averages 6½ catches per game with the Eagles, he’ll reach 90 for the fifth straight year and become the first NFL player with 90 catches in a season in which he played for two teams.

• Tate had four 90-catch seasons before his 30th birthday. Only four NFL players have ever had more 90-catch seasons before turning 30 — Brown, Fitzgerald, Thomas and Brandon Marshall.

• Tate has more career catches (581) than any other second-round pick currently in the NFL. He’s seven ahead of former Eagle Jackson (574). Tate’s 581 catches are 12th most in NFL history by a second-round pick, just five behind Tiki Barber and eight behind Hall of Famer Fred Biletnikoff.

• Tate ranks fourth among active players with 50 or more punt returns with a 10.6 average. He trails only Tyreek Hill (12.8), Julian Edelman (11.5) and Travis Benjamin (11.2).
