After being carted off vs. Panthers, Jason Peters: ‘I'm good'

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — If there was any good news Sunday night, it was the sight of Jason Peters walking down a concourse at Bank of America Stadium about half an hour after the game ended.

Earlier in the evening, Peters, the perennial All-Pro left tackle, gave every Eagles fan a scare when he collapsed to the ground during the first quarter of the Eagles-Panthers game and stayed there for several minutes.

As his teammates and even several members of the Panthers knelt watching, Peters was placed on a cart that drove him off the field.

It was hard not to think about Peters’ two blown Achilles injuries — especially when TV replays showed Peters crumbling to the ground untouched.

Turns out Peters was experiencing what the Eagles described as back spasms.

And Peters, as he walked toward the team bus, said he’s playing when the Eagles take the field again, in two weeks against the Cowboys.

“I’ll be all right,” Peters said after the Eagles' 27-16 loss to the Panthers (see Instant Replay). “I’m good.”

Asked if he thinks he’ll be able to play against the Cowboys on Nov. 8, Peters said, “Yeah.”

Peters was replaced by right guard Matt Tobin, with Dennis Kelly going the rest of the way at right guard.
