These last two months were supposed to be pretty busy for former Eagles long snapper-turned magician Jon Dorenbos.
Then the coronavirus pandemic hit.
“It was crazy because six of these last eight weeks, I was going to be on the road and it was going to be a grind,” Dorenbos told NBC Sports Philadelphia’s John Clark while promoting an upcoming documentary about his life. “But it was going to be the best two months. It all halted.”
Dorenbos had a tour with MGM and has also found a niche as a keynote speaker for companies at their events.
The hour-long documentary on Dorenbos’ incredible life, “Goal to Go: Jon Dorenbos” will premier on the Eagles’ official YouTube channel at noon on Friday and will air on NBC10 at 7 p.m. on Saturday.
Dorenbos has a truly inspirational story. As a child, he used magic to help cope after his father murdered his mother when he was 12. He grew up to become a professional football player. His career ended when the Eagles traded him to New Orleans and doctors found that he had an aortic aneurysm, a discovery that saved his life. He’s been spreading his message and his story through his magic act ever since.
Of course, we couldn’t let Dorenbos go without showing off a magic trick. His latest one didn’t disappoint.
