Leodis McKelvin didn't get out of the building.
The Eagles and the free-agent cornerback agreed to a two-year deal on Tuesday afternoon, the team announced. CSN earlier confirmed that McKelvin was at the NovaCare Complex for a visit.
McKelvin, 30, was cut by the Bills a few days ago in a move that saved the team $3.9 million in salary cap room. His salary for 2016 was going to be $3.1 million before he was released.
Because he was cut, he didn't have to wait until the start of a new league year on Wednesday to get the deal completed. Terms of his deal with the Eagles were not immediately available.
The move to sign McKelvin comes just one day after the Eagles finalized a trade to send former starting cornerback Byron Maxwell to the Miami Dolphins.
You don't have to look hard to find the link between McKelvin and the 2016 Eagles. In 2014, he played under defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz, who now fills the same role with the Eagles. McKelvin early Tuesday evening said his familiarity with Schwartz was one of the big reasons he signed with the Eagles.
"He's had a long history as a player, was drafted in the first round and, other than some injuries, has always played at a really high level," Schwartz said to the Eagles' website. "He can play inside, he can play outside, he was a good tackler, had great ball instincts, was a good, all-around player and has been that way for a long time."

Under Schwartz, McKelvin played 10 games in 2014 and had a career-high four interceptions. He also forced a fumble and recovered one that season.
McKelvin has played outside corner, slot corner and safety during his NFL career. He wouldn't say whether or not he expects to start in Philly.
"I could play anywhere," he said. "I see myself playing anywhere where this coaching staff wants me to play. And I’m looking forward to coming in and doing that."
McKelvin was the Bills' first-round pick (No. 11 overall) in 2008 out of Troy. He's played in 98 career games and has started 60.
In addition to his work as a corner, McKelvin has also been a returner. In his career, McKelvin has a 10.3 yards per return punt average and a 26.0 yards per return kick return average.
At the end of the 2014 season with the Bills under Schwartz, McKelvin suffered a broken ankle. He began the 2015 season on the non-football injury list but returned in Week 9 and started five games (one at safety and four at corner).
