Eagles agree to 3-year deal to bring back guard-center Stefen Wisniewski

Throughout the 2016 season, veteran Stefen Wisniewski wasn't shy about his desire to earn a long-term deal and be a starter.

It looks like that might be happening in Philadelphia.

The Eagles on Friday morning agreed to terms of a three-year deal to keep Wisniewski around. According to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, the three-year deal is worth $9 million and can be worth up to $15 million with incentives. Wisniewski was originally on a one-year deal with the Eagles last season.

By bringing the 27-year-old Wisniewski back, there seems to be an obvious question: What happens to Jason Kelce?

By cutting or trading Kelce, the Eagles would save $3.8 million in much-needed salary cap space. And with Wisniewski back, the Eagles right now have interior linemen Brandon Brooks, Isaac Seumalo, Chance Warmack and Allen Barbre under contract in addition to Kelce.

It appears, especially with the Eagles in a tight cap situation, that something has to give.

For his part, Wisniewski proved to be a solid signing last season. While he was a backup, he played in all 16 games and was needed to start six. The former second-round pick out of Penn State spent the first four years in Oakland before playing 2015 in Jacksonville and 2016 in Philly.
