Eagles, CB Nolan Carroll agree to one-year deal

The Eagles didn't have to go too far to find another corner, agreeing to a one-year deal with free agent Nolan Carroll on Tuesday.

Carroll, 29, visited the Cowboys last week, but ultimately will end up back with the Eagles in 2016. The deal is reportedly worth $2.3 million.

CSN's Derrick Gunn first reported the signing.

Carroll spent the last two seasons with the Eagles after four with the Dolphins. In 2015, he started the first 11 games before breaking his ankle on Thanksgiving. He had 54 tackles, two interceptions (including a pick-six of Eli Manning) and 10 passes defensed. After the injury, rookie Eric Rowe became a starter and played well.

The Eagles also signed cornerback Leodis McKelvin last week and traded Byron Maxwell to the Dolphins. So it's likely that some combination of Carroll, Rowe and McKelvin will be starting next year.
