Eagles fans, and a player, not exactly happy with Malcolm Jenkins move

The Eagles shocked Philadelphia on Tuesday, announcing they'd declined Malcolm Jenkins' 2020 contract option and were turning the page on his time in Philadelphia.

Jenkins, widely considered one of the franchise's best-ever free agency signings and one of its best-ever defenders, is 32 but played yet another high-level season in 2019, showing little to no deterioration.

Jenkins said during the season that he wouldn't be back on his current deal, and it seems Howie Roseman and the Eagles' front office decided Jenkins' asking price was too high to justify extending their relationship with the safety.

How are Eagles fans (and players!) taking the unexpected news? Um... not very well.

First, let's go to Eagles cornerback Rasul Douglas, who was caught off-guard by the move:

I get it, Rasul. That was a lot of Philly on Tuesday.

Here's what the fans' reactions looked like:

It's going to be a tough one to swallow, and unless the Eagles make a splashy move in the secondary, it doesn't exactly feel like Roseman sees 2020 as a "let's go win a Super Bowl" year right now.

Which is tough, considering Carson Wentz is theoretically entering the prime of his career, and you want to make every one of those prime years count.

But, for now, this is the move we have.
