Seven players will be inactive for the Eagles' preseason opener against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday afternoon at Lincoln Financial Field.

DeMarco Murray, however, is not among the inactives, but is unlikely to play. Murray has been limited thus far camp, but the coaching staff insists he's not injured.

Murray is fully expected to be ready to play in the Eagles' season opener Sept. 14 in Atlanta on Monday Night Football (see story).

Inside linebackers Kiko Alonso, DeMeco Ryans and Mychal Kendricks are inactive. Alonso had already been declared out with a concussion.

While Sam Bradford was in uniform for pre-game warmups, the quarterback is inactive, as expected, and Mark Sanchez gets the start.

Others held out of Sunday's game include tight end Zach Ertz and safeties Earl Wolff and Jerome Couplin.

Trent Cole and Todd Herremans are active for Indianapolis in their first game back in Philadelphia. Both players spent their first 10 years in the NFL with the Eagles.

Eagles cornerback Byron Maxwell will not get a chance to cover Colts top wide receiver T.Y. Hilton, as the wideout is inactive for Indianapolis.
