ATLANTA — No big surprises on the list of Eagles’ inactives for Sunday Night Football against the Atlanta Falcons. The same seven players are inactive this week as Week 1.
Here’s the complete list:
LB Kamu Grugier-Hill (knee)
OT Jordan Mailata (back)
QB Nate Sudfeld (wrist)
OL Nate Herbig
OL Matt Pryor
DE Shareef Miller
DE Daeshon Hall
Grugier-Hill and Mailata both missed practice all week, but were able to work out some on a side field. Mailata is still a backup, but Grugier-Hill will be an important starter when he’s ready to return.
Grugier-Hill was working out on the field early during warmups. He wasn’t wearing a brace.
Sudfeld was a limited participant this week for the first time since breaking his left wrist during training camp. Doug Pederson earlier this week wouldn’t say who will be the backup once Sudfeld is ready to return.
Defensive tackle Akeem Spence, who agreed to terms on Tuesday is playing tonight. He’s a seven-year NFL veteran, so the Eagles were able to get him up to speed in time to play. With Malik Jackson on IR, Tim Jernigan is expected to start and Hassan Ridgeway and Spence will rotate in.
Cornerback Craig James, who was called up from the practice squad this week, is also active for tonight’s game.
The Eagles again have just seven active offensive linemen, which means their only backups are Halapoulivaati Vaitai and Andre Dillard. Last week, the Eagles used Dillard on four snaps as a tight end/extra inline blocker.
