The Packers have had the Eagles' number of late, winning four of the last five meetings, including playoffs. As long as recent history is on the table though, all the Eagles have to say in response are three little words: 4th and 26.
Obviously, that memorable chapter in Eagles history was on somebody's mind at Lincoln Financial Field on Monday night, because as Brandon Lee Gowton for Birds 24/7 noticed, that down and distance just happened to appear on the scoreboard during pre-game warmups. Coincidence? Most certainly not.
Of course, that was almost 14 years ago now, and since that fateful play during the 2003 playoffs, the Packers avenged that with a postseason win over the Eagles en route to a Super Bowl championship. Still, on a night when Jeremiah Trotter and Merrill Reese go into the Eagles Hall of Fame against Green Bay, it's well worth remembering.
