The Eagles have found their defensive coordinator.
Doug Pederson, during his introductory press conference on Tuesday, said Jim Schwartz will be the Eagles' new defensive coordinator.
Sports Illustrated's Don Banks first reported that Schwartz and the Eagles had reached an agreement.
Schwartz, 49, brings with him an impressive résumé as well as a lot of NFL coaching experience.
While many thought Pederson would go to the Andy Reid coaching tree for his coordinators, that wasn't the case for defense. It's also been reported that former Chargers offensive coordinator Frank Reich will join the team as offensive coordinator. Pederson said he has not decided on an offensive coordinator.
Schwartz was out of the NFL in 2015, but he was successful in his last stop as the Bills' defensive coordinator in 2014. That year, the Bills had the NFL's fourth-best defense. Before his quick stop in Buffalo, he was the head coach in Detroit for five seasons. Before that, he was the longtime defensive coordinator in Tennessee.

Schwartz runs a 4-3 defense, so there will be some big changes for the Eagles on the defensive side of the ball next season. For several seasons, many have thought the Eagles had the personnel to run a 4-3, but they ran a 3-4 under Chip Kelly and Billy Davis.
