When the high-speed blur that is Marquise Goodwin eventually sprints across the grass at Lincoln Financial Field, you might able to make out the number 13.
Goodwin announced in an Instagram video Monday his decision to wear No. 13 with the Eagles, a week after he wondered aloud about which jersey number to wear.
Here's a mockup of Goodwin wearing 13 in the Eagles' all-white uniform, courtesy of his Instagram:
Last week, Goodwin was fielding suggestions during a YouTube Live Q&A when he joked about racing JJ Arcega-Whiteside for 19, but it looks like Goodwin will let the second-year wideout keep his number.
The number 13 has an... interesting recent history. Most recently worn by Nelson Agholor, fans might have some brutal flashbacks if Goodwin drops an easy pass next season. Before Agholor, good old Josh Huff wore the 13. So, yeah.
NFL
Goodwin previously wore 88 in Buffalo and 11 in San Francisco.
Here's where the Eagles' wide receiver jersey numbers stand for now, with more to come:
10: DeSean Jackson
13: Marquise Goodwin
16: John Hightower (requested)
17: Alshon Jeffery
18: Jalen Reagor
19: JJ Arcega-Whiteside
83: Shelton Gibson
84: Greg Ward
