The Eagles’ roster is full at 90 players after signing safety Deshawntee Gallon Monday.
Perhaps the most important thing a Google search told us about Gallon is his nickname: "Ironhead."
Ironhead Gallon, 24, went undrafted out of Georgia Southern University last season and spent last summer with the Cardinals. His father, Shawn, gave him that nickname, by the way.
Gallon is the sixth safety on the roster, joining Malcolm Jenkins, Rodney McLeod, Corey Graham, Tre Sullivan and Jeremy Reaves. The team just released UDFA Stephen Roberts on Saturday.
With just a couple days of practice and one preseason game, it’s going to be hard for Gallon to learn the defense and impossible to make the team. If nothing else, it’ll give him a chance to put some tape out there and at least stay relevant in NFL circles.
The Eagles must have their roster at 53 by 4 p.m. on Saturday.
