My five NFL games to watch in Week 7:
Dolphins at Texans (Thursday, 8:20 p.m. FOX/NFL)
The Dolphins are ailing with QB Ryan Tannehill and starting WRs Albert Wilson and Kenny Still all ruled out. If that’s not bad enough the Fins have lost three of their last four. QB DeShaun Watson and WRs DeAndre Hopkins and Will Fuller are ready to go. Throw in the Texans' four-game win streak and I’m rolling with Houston.
Seahawks at Lions (1 p.m. FOX)
‘Hawks LB K.J. Wright could make his season debut. Russell Wilson has been sacked 19 times, but the O-line has played much better lately with Wilson only being dropped five times in the last three games. The Lions need to get their running game going with Kerryon Johnson leading the way (158 rush yards vs Dolphins). Detroit has won 2 in a row, but Wilson and company could finally be catching their stride. I’ve got the Seahawks in this one.
Ravens at Panthers (1 p.m. CBS)
The Panthers are feeling good about themselves after a fourth-quarter rally against the Eagles. The Ravens, who have lost two of their last three, have to shake off a heartbreaker of a loss to the Saints. The Ravens’ top-ranked defense, that yields a league-low 14.4 points per game, has just enough depth and versatility to not make the same mistakes the Eagles did. Baltimore pounces on the Panthers.
Packers at Rams (4:25 p.m. FOX)
The Packers are well rested coming off a bye and hoping to have some key personnel back for this one. In their last game, they struggled to get by a weak 49ers team. The same Niners the Rams just beat by 29. WR Cooper Kupp is doubtful with a knee sprain, but the Rams still have Todd Gurley, Brandin Cooks, and Aaron Donald. We’ve seen Aaron Rodgers will his team to a win against improbable odds. Not happening this time.
Saints at Vikings (Sunday night, 8:20 p.m. NBC)
The Saints have been looking forward to going back to the scene of where they lost a playoff stunner last season. Vikings WR Adam Thielen is having quite the year. He leads the league in receiving yards (822) and has had over 100 receiving yards every game this season. Minnesota RB Dalvin Cook still isn’t ready because of a hamstring injury. Saints RBs Alvin Kamara and Mark Ingram will be a good test for the Vikings' fifth-ranked run defense. New Orleans is 3-0 on the road and the Saints have won five straight. Revenge is mine sayeth Drew Brees.
