Will Mark Sanchez defy the odds and open the season as the Broncos' starting QB?
The odds are only slightly shorter than they are for Colin Kaepernick, who remains a 49er, quarterbacking Denver in Week 1.
Bovada has listed the odds for Sanchez starting for the Broncos in Week 1 as 5/2. Kaepernick is 7/2. Ryan Fitzpatrick is 15/2, while a 2016 NFL draft pick is 3/1.
Another interesting Eagles-related tidbit involves DeMarco Murray. The over/under for rushing yards set for the new Titans RB is 850. Murray rushed for 702 yards in a dismal year with the Eagles in 2015. He's exceeded 850 rushing yards in three of five NFL seasons, falling short last year and in his second season in Dallas, when he missed six games.
Other free-agent futures bets of note:
• New Browns QB Robert Griffin's over/under for starts: 9.5
• New Texans QB Brock Osweiler's over/unders: 25.5 pass TDs, 3,750 passing yards
NFL
• New Jets RB Matt Forte's over/under: 1,000 rushing yards
• New (and handsomely paid) Giants pass rusher Olivier Vernon sacks: over/under 7.5.
