Last week, new Eagles safety Rodney McLeod said there were a few reasons he decided to come to Philadelphia.
The biggest was Malcolm Jenkins.
The 25-year-old McLeod even went as far as to say he thinks the duo of him and Jenkins could be the best safety pairing in the NFL (see story).
CSN's Jen Daniels caught up with Jenkins Thursday at the annual Zarwin Baum March Madness watching party to benefit Philabundance at the Crystal Tea Room and Jenkins said he's looking forward to working with McLeod, too.
"He's a young player in this league that I've watched on tape, that plays with a lot of intensity, flies around," Jenkins said. "He's one of those safeties I think Philadelphia will like. He has that attitude, he's not afraid to stick his nose in the fan. So I'm looking forward to playing with him. He's reached out already, we've met, and I'm looking forward to working with him."
Jenkins' comments about McLeod echo what new safeties coach Tim Hauck said to the Eagles' website about McLeod.
“McLeod’s got a lot of talent and a lot of heart," Hauck said. "Philly will embrace this guy.”

By most accounts, the Eagles have had a pretty good offseason this year, signing guys like McLeod, Brandon Brooks and Nigel Bradham.
But Jenkins is making sure he doesn't get caught up in the hype. Not this year.
"I think last year, we had an awesome offseason, we had all the hype, had a great preseason and we expected so much just to be great, and I think everybody learned a hard lesson that every day you have to earn it," he said. "I think we'll take it one day at a time, we won't get too high, we won't get too low knowing that we want to do more than just have a great offseason. We want to do more than look good on paper. We want to win games."
